Homemade Lasagna

 1 lb. hamburger
1 package Italian sausage (the large links that have casing on them)
1/4 tsp garlic powder
1/2 qt. crushed tomatoes
6 oz. can tomato paste
3/4 tsp salt
1/4 tsp ground oregano leaves
mozzarella cheese
Parmesan cheese
1 container cottage cheese
1 cup sour cream
lasagna noodles

First, brown the hamburger, sausage and garlic powder. Then add the crushed tomatoes, tomato paste, salt and oregano. Stir together and simmer for 15-20 minutes to let the flavors enhance. In the meantime cook the lasagna noodles. Rinse and leave in cool water so they don't stick together. In a small bowl mix the cottage cheese with the sour cream. Next you will start to assemble your lasagna. On the bottom of a deep 9x13 baking dish spread a small amount of the meat sauce over the bottom to help the noodles not stick. Next add your noodles and spread entirely across the dish. On top of the noodles spread some of the cottage cheese/sour cream mixture. Next carefully spread some of the meat mixture. On top of the meat mixture sprinkle the mozzarella cheese and parmesan cheese. Repeat these steps until pan is full almost to the top. Make sure you top it with remaining cheese. Bake for 20 minutes at 350 degrees.
***NOTE - Make sure all the noodles are covered at the top, if not they will get very crunchy and hard while baking.
