The BEST Fettuccine Alfredo

I am a sucker for good fettuccine alfredo, I hadn't found one that I thought was the perfect recipe, until now. I found this recipe in the Worldwide Ward Cookbook. I will now use this recipe every time I crave alfredo. But don't try this recipe if you are on a diet. It's definitely high in calories, which is why it tastes so good probably! Enjoy!

1 16 oz. pkg. fettuccine noodles
1/2 C. butter
1/4 C. flour
1 quart half-and-half or heavy cream
3/4 C. Parmesan cheese
1/2 C. Romano cheese or 8 oz. cream cheese
1 TBSP parsley (flakes or fresh)
1 1/2 tsp garlic powder
salt
pepper

Cook fettuccine. Drain and set aside. Melt butter in a large saucepan. Add flour and cook and stir until smooth and bubbly. Slowly stir in cream. Add cheeses, parsley, garlic powder, salt, and pepper. Simmer until sauce thickens. After it has thickened, taste to see if it needs more salt and pepper. We added grilled chicken, it was so yummy! Makes 6-8 servings.

**I used cream cheese instead of Romano cheese and it made it so creamy! I also didn't have enough heavy cream so I used milk and it worked just fine. Enjoy!
